Mumbai: The 14th season of the Indian Premier League has been canceled halfway through.  The BCCI tournament was canceled due to strong pressure among the players.  The teams of Delhi, CSK, RCB and Mumbai had battled hard in the top four.  Kovid became a villain as the tournament entered its second round.  It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.  The rankings of the captains of all the eight teams in the 14th season are known based on the matches played so far.


MS Dhoni

CSK captain MS Dhoni tops the list.  Dhoni's captaincy has played a big role in bringing CSK back to a strong position this season after missing the play - offs last season.  Dhoni has won five of the seven matches he has played while losing two.  Dhoni's experiments, including Moin Ali's number three, have been largely successful.


Rishabh Panth

Delhi Capitals topped the points table when the tournament was canceled. Delhi have won six of the eight matches they have played. Rishabh Pant, who replaced Shreyas Iyer, was the captain of the team. Despite his debut season as a captain, Rishabh, who led the team with maturity, is second on the list.


Virat Kohli

RCB captain Virat Kohli is third.  RCB are third with seven wins and five losses.  Though he did not live up to expectations as a batsman, he did shine as a captain.  RCB's one-run win over Delhi is a prime example of Kohli's captaincy this season.


Sanju Samson

In fourth place is Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson.  This was Sanju's debut season as a captain, but he managed to lead the team without faltering.  The team has three wins and four losses in seven matches.  But Sanju, who celebrated his arrival as a captain with a century, played many matches with maturity and took charge as a captain.


Rohit Sharma

The Mumbai Indians did not get off to a good start as they looked for a hat - trick.  As a hero, Rohit could not show the old magic.  So Rohit is in fifth position.  Mumbai were fourth with four wins and three losses in seven matches.  Rohit could not excel as a batsman either.


KL Rahul

In sixth place is Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul.  Rahul is a lone batsman for the team.  Punjab have won three and lost five of their last eight matches.  As a captain, Rahul was able to lead from the front in most of the matches.  But the lack of support from teammates was reflected in Punjab's match results.


David Warner

This time, Sunrisers Hyderabad's David is the captain who missed everything. Halfway through, Warner was dropped from the Hyderabad captaincy and replaced by Kane Williamson. Hyderabad, who have played seven matches, are bottom of the points table with six defeats. But Warner was able to perform better as a captain. KKR lost five of seven matches
